- Great jukebox
Rudy's bar opened in 1933 by the Rudy family. It was one of the first liquor licenses issued in New York City after prohibition ended. The present owner, Jack, started drinking in Rudy's in 1943 when he was 16; back when Hell's Kitchen was really Hell's Kitchen! Rudy's may be the most well known bar in N.Y.C., with a long and colorful history. The stories Jack can tell. Rudy's still has the original wood door from the day it opened. When you walk through it the feel of the old neighborhood saloon is still there with cheap beer, free hot dogs, and great people!

If you're looking for a dive bar that cannot be beat, make sure that you stop by Rudy's for a few drinks. Their beer selection is vast and the prices are so hot you'll want more and more!
The people that frequent this place when I've been are a mix between your after-work crowd, local construction workers and your pre-party people. The atmosphere is cool and there is usually some type of sports event on the TV. Bartenders are welcoming and definitely don't make you feel like you don't belong.
One time my man and I met this English guy that talked about how he loved the USA and that people who live here that complain are losers. He was a good talker and it was nice to hear that from a foreigner. He then bought a pitcher of Stella Artois...Score!
Great staff, great location, great prices!

Where to begin... This place is a true dive bar in every sense of the word, and is completely awesome. They have a nice beer selection at great prices (Rudy's Blonde, not only cheap, but good - it's what I always get). The jukebox has a great selection, and the cross-section of people there is incredible - as diverse as the city itself.
But what's most important is the respect that the bartenders (who've been there forever) quietly command - they're good, fast, and don't give an attitude, yet everyone who walks in knows not to mess with them.
Oh, and free hot dogs. I mean, free hot dogs with beer. Does it get any better?
Pros: Prices, people, jukebox, bartenders, EVERYTHING
Cons: Nothing
