Phil Ravita is a free lance bassist who is a member of the Baltimore and New York Musicians associations. He plays both acoustic and 6 string electric bass. His Jazz Group is a group of professional musicians performing in the Mid-Atalntic region. Based in Baltimore , this group has perfromed at private parties, corporate affairs, and public concerts. The group regurlarly performs at Lexington Market in Baltimore. The February performance of the group in that venue group was the subject of a article in the January 2006 edition of the Baltimore Jazz alliance Newsletter. Mr. Ravita's jazz composition "Hard at Work" was performed at the first annual Jazz Composers Showcase sponsored by the Baltimore Jazz Alliance and the Baltimore Composer's Forum in October of 2005.
Mr. Ravita's original composition "AHAMAY" Was chosen by the Baltinmore Jazz Alliance for inclusion on the Compilation CD of local jazz composers and performers. The CD, "Jazzscapes" is available for sale from the Baltimore Jazz Alliance and is also available on CDBaby.com. The song is performed on the recording by the Phil Ravita Jazz Group. Note Born Music as well as, Jet Sound Music, Karnal music, The Doctor Lou radio show on WNJC-am in Philadelphia, Well Rounded Radio, and Ticket Bean have selected Mr. Ravita's compositions for inclusion on their playlist and catalog.
